NRG Riverside expands fleet with winter maintenance vehicles

2024 has been a significant year of growth at NRG Riverside. Over £46m has been invested this year so far in new fleet to replace older fleet and to also bolster the business’ growth into new sectors including NRG Riverside’s latest expansion.

October 2024 will see NRG Riverside venture into the winter maintenance vehicle sector. It will be the first year gritters have been added to the fleet. “Having successfully built a loyal customer base within local authorities and waste management, we are seeking the opportunity to demonstrate and prove our capabilities in this new sector” said Chris Snelson, Fleet and Asset Director.

As part of our fleet , we have now added nine brand new DAF LF and XB 4×2 Bucher Municipal UniQa with varieties of Polyx and Unix snow ploughs, and also fourteen slightly older 6×4 Volvo FE and Mercedes-Benz 6×4 and 4×4 options not to mention our fully electric Electra Eurocargo SEIV Bucher Municipal Phoenix 6m3 salt spreader with pre wet and L plough with back to black Neoprene Scraping Edge (Electro Hydraulic).

This investment demonstrates NRG Riverside’s commitment to ensuring safer and more efficient winter road maintenance. “We have added five new workshops to our depot estate to ensure the quality of service and maintenance across our customers vehicles, thinking strategically throughout to ensure that these workshops are best located to support our growing customer base” said Amber Greenhalgh, Rental & Marketing Director.

As winter approaches, the safety of our roads becomes a top priority. The introduction of gritters to our fleet will significantly improve our ability support our customers in the  management of icy and snowy conditions, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and keeping traffic moving smoothly.

Our gritter vehicles represents another step in our ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of our services. “This was part of our strategic growth plan earlier this year to support our highways offering. Our internal systems and processes are now adapted to allow for seasonal overhauls, salt calibration and urgent replacement kit. We have already completed our internal training to prepare for this” said Amber Greenhalgh.
