NRG Riverside's Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

At NRG Riverside, we believe that every individual within our organisation deserves to feel valued, respected, and included. While we acknowledge and celebrate the diversity of our workforce, we also recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive culture where all employees feel a sense of belonging, regardless of their gender, status, ethnicity, or minority group affiliation.

As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I), we are pleased to release our new Diversity and Inclusion Policy to our employees today. This policy reaffirms our dedication to ensuring that all employees are treated equally and fairly, and that discriminatory behaviour is not tolerated within our organisation.

To further support the implementation of our D&I Policy, we will be rolling out a series of training sessions for all employees starting from April 2024. These sessions will cover various aspects of diversity and inclusion, including unconscious bias, legal implications of discrimination, and creating inclusive environments. While some sessions will be mandatory, others will be optional for those interested in further developing their understanding of D&I.

Our D&I strategy outlines clear objectives aimed at fostering an inclusive environment where diversity thrives and employees feel empowered to contribute their best work. This strategy is not just a set of ideals but a tangible action plan that will guide our efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion across all aspects of our organisation.

Key components of our strategy include:

Communication: We will communicate our D&I Policy and strategy to all employees, emphasising our commitment to inclusivity and our decision not to celebrate certain occasions that may inadvertently exclude or marginalise certain groups.

Training: We will provide comprehensive training to all employees, with a particular focus on upskilling our People Managers to effectively support and champion diversity and inclusion within their teams.

Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance policy towards unfair and discriminatory conduct, and our training will emphasise the importance of creating a respectful and inclusive workplace for all.

Facilities: We will review our facilities to ensure they are inclusive and accessible to all employees, regardless of their background or identity.

We recognise that diversity is not just a buzzword – it’s a fundamental aspect of who we are as an organisation. By prioritising diversity and inclusion, we are not only creating a better workplace for our employees but also driving innovation, productivity, and business success.

We invite all employees to join us on this journey towards a more inclusive future, where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. Together, we can build a workplace where diversity is celebrated, and all voices are heard.
